30 people killed, thousands evacuated in South Korea’s flood, landslide

South Korea has experienced the second-longest duration of heavy rains in the past seven years

The southern part of Korea has been heavily battered by rain as the continuous rain that has lasted for 46 days has resulted in the death of at least 30 people while 12 people have been reported missing due to the monsoon.

The long duration of the heavy rain has been reported to be the second-longest duration of Monsoon for the past seven years as more than 6000 people have been evacuated from their residence.

Juju island has been excluded as the forest agency has issued an intense landslide warning to the highest level of every area. A landslide that occurred from a mountain in a village in Gokseong, south Joella province has left at least five people killed and five houses buried.
