Lagos State schools below tertiary ordered to Vacate on Friday

The vacation is meant for the celebration of the Christmas and New year


The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has given an order that the private schools in the state should vacate tomorrow Friday 18th December 2020.

The order was made known in a statement that was published by the Director-General, Office of Education, Quality assurance, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Abiola Ayeni.

In the statement, she disclosed that all public and private schools below the tertiary level in the state are ordered to vacate on the aforementioned date and resume back on 4th January, 20121, while the students who stay at the boarding secondary schools are expected to resume a day before, which is on the 3rd January 2021.

The vacation was said to be for the Christmas and new year celebration.. In her statement, she said

The Lagos States Government has directed public and private schools in the state to vacate on Friday 18th December 2020.

Therefore, all public and private schools below the tertiary level in the state are to close for the Christmas and New Year holiday on that day.

Schools are to resume back on Monday 4th January 2021 in compliance with the Lagos State harmonized academic calendar.

It is important to note that boarders are to resume on Sunday 3rd January 2021 while academic activities commence immediately
